This is the plate after Ornamental Turning, the pattern used was from the manual and is a barleycorn with a pattern of 5 cuts and 3 skips using the 96 step index.. The detail here shows how the wood was unable to hold the design due to its not being hard enough. Chipping occurred in areas of tight patterning, I think it would have been fine with a less intricate pattern though. As you can see, the circles around the circumference held up quite well.
